Must-have fields
- Sequential order number, date and time, and who checked it in.
- Customer name and phone, and whether they agree to text updates.
- Device: brand, model, color, and IMEI (dial *#06#) or serial.
- Condition at drop-off: screen, back, frame, cameras, buttons, port. Note whether photos were taken.
- Reported fault in the customer's words, plus the tech's first read.
- Quote, deposit, and estimated ready date.
- Short terms: diagnostic fee, liquid-damaged devices, data responsibility, warranty scope, and unclaimed-device policy.
- Signatures at drop-off and at pickup, and a tear-off claim stub.
Habits that make it work
- Never reuse or hand-write order numbers.
- Ask customers to take SIM and memory cards with them.
- Describe every flaw, not just the one being fixed.
- Get the pickup signature; it's your proof the device left.
